I value authenticity, care work, interdependence / sacred reciprocity, non-linear time + healing, solidarity, autonomy, boundaries, + pleasure.
I seek to weave my strand in the web of wyrd as a race traitor in service of dispelling + dismantling myths + structures of white supremacy + capitalism. I believe in the power + magic of care webs, mutual aid, + crip, femme, survivor wisdom. As a crip, femme, survivor myself who lives with complex PTSD + chronic pain, I am particularly interested in the intersections of nervous system co-regulation + healing attachment traumas through building relationships + communities grounded in care + interdependence.

SASSAFRAS HEALING ARTS ORIGIN STORY
I started Sassafras Healing Arts in 2012 after many years of supporting myself with herbal medicine through a variety of health crises. When a sweet friend of my told me that they loved the winter solstice salve I made for them so much that they wanted to get more from me for some of their beloveds, I decided to begin offering herbal medicine to folks in my community.
MORE ABOUT ME
From what I know, I come from Cajun / French, Norwegian, Swedish, German, Prussian, Belgian, Austrian, Polish, + Roma working-class farmers, caretakers, healers, herbalists, midwives, nurses, blacksmiths, jewelers, clockmakers, merchants, and more.
I am a disabled, trans, non-binary, queer, femme, southern transplant who spent my childhood in New Orleans, Louisiana — Chickasaw, Chitimacha, + Choctaw Land, my adolescence in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin — Anishinaabe, Dakhóta + Ho-Chunk Land, + my early to mid 20’s in Duluth, Minnesota — Anishinaabe Territory.
I spent my 20’s working as an advocate to survivors of intimate partner violence + sexual assault, a sexual health + pleasure educator, and co-founding SPIRAL Collective. I maintained community-organizing and advocacy practices while also expanding + deepening my care work to include queer + trans-centered herbalism, bodywork/somatics, astrology, ancestral healing, and their varying intersections. In 2017 I began formally studying craniosacral bodywork + cupping therapy. I have been studying tarot, astrology, and ancestral healing since 2015. Runes began to speak to me in my dreams in 2018 and I have been deeply listening ever since. I work these divination practices into my work with clients as well as my medicine-making practice.
I provided HRT injections & HIV testing at The Minnesota Transgender Health Coalition from From 2012 - 2017.
I Co-Founded + Co-Directed SPIRAL Collective from 2012 - 2020 + I also Co-Founded + Co-Directed Herbalists for Racial Justice from 2016 - 2020.
